The average American spends $800 on gifts over the holiday season. Of those recipients, only 40% actually like their gifts, and 50% of those who don’t, re-gift. After we’re done buying gifts that 60% of people don’t want, we wrap them in paper or put them in bags that add another 4 million tons of waste in our landfills.

The solutions:
1. Instead of buying, spend quality time with friends and family. See a movie, go for a walk, sing carols, or partake in a festive activity offered by your community.
2. If you're feeling gifty, put it in reusable cloth tote and skip the paper and ribbons. Look to send a digital movie or music – it requires no packaging thanks to technology.

FuturePlanet wishes you an future friendly holiday season!
